Roadworks Hell Sees no Less Than 11 Work Sites on Main Roads into Burton

Author/Presenter: Kreft, Helen
Abstract:

Motorists using two main routes in and out of Burton are getting stuck in heavy delays due to no less than eleven sets of roadworks. Many of those roadworks are for essential gas, water, and telephone. Communications firm Virgin Media is responsible for the majority of roadworks on the A444, which have been ongoing for more than a month. The roadworks cross three counties and would rely on the permission and co-ordination of Staffordshire, Derbyshire, and Leicestershire county councils to minimize their impact on motorists.
