Safety Analysis of Coordinated Warning Information in Construction Area of Expressway
Author/Presenter: Chen, Hao-Lin; Pan, Cheng-Gui; Qin, Cheng; Zhao, Xiao-HuaAbstract:
Construction areas can easily cause traffic accidents and form traffic bottlenecks. In this study, based on driving simulation technology, a test platform for warning information of vehicle-road cooperative construction areas was built, and three indexes including speed, acceleration, and speed standard deviation were adopted to explore the influence of Human Machine Interface (HMI) warning information on the safety of the construction area. The results show that the HMI warning information will reduce the vehicle speed to some extent, and the fluctuation of acceleration and velocity standard deviation of HMI vehicles is decreased, and the safety is significantly increased compared with the conventional vehicle. In this study, the influence of HMI warning information on expressway construction areas was analyzed from the perspective of safety, which laid a foundation for research on the comprehensive evaluation of vehicle-road collaborative systems on expressway construction areas and the synergistic mechanism of deep-digging vehicle-road.
