Technology Spurs Work Sites to Become Safer: Connected Technology Installed on Site and in Works Vehicles has the Promise of Reducing Harm for Personnel Maintaining the Highway

Abstract:

Two intelligent safety systems have been introduced in the North East to improve the safety of roadsite workers and delivery drivers arriving on site. The first system is known as Intellicone Safelane, which is designed to warn site workers of an errant vehicle heading their way. The system was introduced on projects at the beginning of this year and has proved its value on several occasions. The second system is known as SiteNav, a navigational tool which can tell delivery drivers arriving on site what to look out for. The SiteNav system will be piloted this spring.
