TxDOT Observes National Work Zone Awareness Week

Abstract:

Each April, the Texas Department of Transportation joins with the Federal Highway Administration, national transportation associations and numerous other state DOTs for National Work Zone Awareness Week (NWZAW) to remember victims and to raise awareness of safety precautions for workers and motorists in work zones. This year, NWZAW will be observed April 6-10, 2009 and will commemorate the 10th anniversary of the campaign. Some work zone crash data are provided in the article as well as links to further information about work zone safety.
