USDOT Proposes Easing Regulatory Burden on States by Eliminating Sign Deadlines
Abstract:The U.S. Department of Transportation announced it would eliminate the deadlines mandated in the last update of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices that require state and local governments to replace millions of traffic signs to meet minimum retroreflectivity standards by 2018. This answered President Obama’s call for a government-wide review of existing regulations to change or remove the rules that are unnecessary, excessively burdensome, or overly costly.
