VDOT Highway Advisory Radio Broadcast Goes off the Air

Author/Presenter: Shinn, Megan
Abstract:

VDOT stopped broadcasting information about traffic, travel conditions and construction on 1680 AM Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) which started around 1990. The reason is that the statewide Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) VDOT implemented in recent years does not support the HAR. VDOT employees suggest people should find up-to-the-minute traffic information on the 511 app, by calling 511, or visiting 511virginia.org.
