VDOT to Begin Deploying Temporary Rumble Strips in Work Zones

Abstract:

In an effort to improve work zone safety, the Virginia Department of Transportation will place temporary rumble strips on any two-lane road with center line markings during daylight hours while workers are present. Once installed, warning signs will be posted ahead of the work zone to encourage drivers to slow down.
