ARDOT Honors the Memory of Fallen Workers Who Made the Ultimate Sacrifice to Arkansas

Author/Presenter: Foltz, Autumn
Abstract:

The Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) held a memorial ceremony on October 8 to honor 92 employees who lost their lives while working on the state’s roads. Families, friends, and coworkers gathered in Little Rock for the dedication of a new fallen worker memorial, constructed from road materials and featuring a symbolic highway pointing skyward. The monument includes a brick walkway engraved with the names of all fallen workers. Attendees shared emotional reflections about loved ones, emphasizing their lasting impact. ARDOT leaders encouraged motorists to slow down and exercise caution around roadway crews to prevent future tragedies.
