Gov. Dewine Announces Traffic Enforcement Enhancements in Work Zones

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, alongside Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) Colonel Charles Jones and Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) Director Jack Marchbanks, announced a new initiative aimed at enhancing traffic enforcement in work zones to prevent crashes and save lives. The initiative will increase OSHP presence in work zones across Ohio to reduce risks for both drivers and workers. OSHP Post Commander, Lt. Chris Chesar, emphasized the importance of protecting construction workers, noting that 34 workers were struck in the first two months of the year. This effort is also part of ODOT’s move over initiative, which raises awareness for the safety of work zone workers.
