Highway Workers Now Protected Under ‘Move Over’ Law

Governor Jay Nixon signed Senate Bill 611 into law on July 9. The new law expands the 2002 “Slow Down and Move Over” law, which protects law enforcement and emergency response vehicles parked on the side of the road, to include Missouri Department of Transportation vehicles with flashing amber and white lights. The new law will become effective on August 28th.
