Illinois Launches New Photo Enforcement Vans to Curb Work-Zone Speeding

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has introduced five new photo enforcement vans aimed at reducing speeding in construction work zones. Developed through a contract with Modaxo, these vans, equipped with high-resolution cameras and safety features, will be operated by IDOT and Illinois State Police. The vans, marked clearly as speed enforcement vehicles and displaying vehicle speeds to drivers, are designed to deter speeding and improve safety in work zones, where speeding is a leading cause of accidents. The program emphasizes visibility and aims to change driver behavior, enhancing the effectiveness of speed enforcement.
