This article designs a new system of smart road cone for the timely and quick warning of danger to the constructors at the road site so that the construction safety at the road and the management efficiency of the road administration department can be improved. By the integration of the three components which are the smart road cone, the control terminal and the cloud platform, the system controls smart road cones in the whole construction area for the synchronized flicker alarm of high frequency when it detects the illegal intrusion by transmitting the message to the control terminal. In the meantime, it will upload the accident information to the cloud platform through the wireless networks to improve the road construction and driving security. In addition, a new graded energy saving power switching circuit is designed and a scheme of control for the synchronized flicker based on GPA time service and Lora is proposed with the focus on the working characteristics of smart road cone to reduce its power consumption without sacrificing the functional performance.
