ODOT Unveils New Vehicle-Mounted Boards to Grab Drivers’ Attention in Oklahoma Work Zones

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) and Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA) are deploying vehicle-mounted digital message boards to combat distracted driving and improve work zone safety. The boards are designed to immediately capture drivers’ attention with safety messages when maintenance vehicles enter work areas. Officials cited the significant number of work zone crashes and distracted-driving fatalities in Oklahoma and urged motorists to slow down, put away distractions, and remain attentive when traveling through work zones.
