OSHA Offers New Temporary Guidelines on ‘Work-Related’ Coronavirus Exposures

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) issued temporary guidelines for enforcement of its record-keeping requirements for reporting a COVID-19 illness. Due to the difficulty with determining “work-relatedness” of exposure, OSHA compliance officers have been directed to exercise discretion when assessing an employer’s efforts in determining if a COVID-19 illness is work-related.
