Personal Protective Equipment in Construction

Abstract:

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has finalized a revision to its personal protective equipment (PPE) standard for the construction industry, requiring that PPE properly fit workers to ensure their safety. Effective January 13, 2025, this update aligns construction PPE regulations with those in general industry and maritime sectors, highlighting the critical role of proper fit in protecting workers from hazards. The rule mandates that employers evaluate and provide appropriately fitting PPE, reinforcing safety measures and compliance within the construction industry.
