Reflectorized Devices for Driver Information. Introduction

Abstract:

This circular presents 8 summaries of areas requiring research in the field of reflectorized devices. The problem areas have been identified as follows: snowplowable raised pavement markers; sign luminance and visual complexity of highway signs; night work zone reflectorization; reflectorized information needs: wet pavement; reflectorized guide signs and driver response; reflectorized guide signs: human factors; reflectorization of curves; and guiderail delineation. These areas were identified by the Subcommittee on Reflectorized Driver Information of the Transportation Research Board’s Group 3 Council on Operation, Safety and Maintenance of Transportation Facilities.
