Texas Department of Transportation Enhances Construction Safety With Robotic Technology

Author/Presenter: Gonzalez, Javi
Abstract:

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is advancing construction safety and efficiency by using robots like TyBOT, Spot, and WALL-E. These robots automate repetitive tasks and enhance data collection while reducing risks for human workers. TyBOT ties rebar on job sites, Spot navigates complex terrain to collect data, and WALL-E inspects storm drains for hazards. TxDOT plans to expand its robotic fleet as part of its mission to prioritize worker safety and streamline operations.
