Tractor Trailer Driver Convicted After NYSDOT Worker Killed in March 2019 Crash

Abstract:

Lawrence Faucett of Ulster, PA was convicted of criminally negligent homicide in the death of NYSDOT maintenance worker Dennis “Matt” Howe. In March 2019, Faucett did not comply with New York’s Move Over Law and drove his truck onto the shoulder, crashing into Howe’s truck which was parked on the shoulder of Route 17 with lights flashing to alert drivers of a road repair crew ahead. Howe was injured and died five days later.
