Trash Truck Hits Work Vehicle
Author/Presenter: Shepard, LizAbstract:
A Canadian trash truck collided with a St. Clair County Road Commission truck on westbound Interstate 69 near Riley Center Road. A county employee was injured and a portion of I-69 was closed for several hours. The driver of the trash truck is expected to be charged with causing injury to a worker in a work zone — a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail — and reckless driving. The crash is the third this year and the seventh since January 2009 involving a Canadian garbage truck on St. Clair County interstates.
