Work Zone Fines Increased to Protect Highway Workers
Abstract:Larry Dunlap was struck by an errant vehicle while performing his routine flagging job in Elk City, Oklahoma. Despite the fact that doctors told him he would always have to walk with a walker or be confined to a wheel chair, he has proved them wrong. In Dunlap’s honor, Oklahoma has passed a bill that calls for a fine of up to $10,000 for endangerment of highway workers within construction or maintenance zones.
