Roadway Construction “Caught-In” Series: Entangled in Equipment and Machinery: Additional Instructor Background Information

Abstract:

According to the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), “caught-in” or “caught-between” hazards are one of the leading causes of death and injury in the construction industry. Constructed as an additional guide for instructors, this fact sheet provides additional guidance on “caught-in” hazards within the transportation construction industry, specifically covering hazards surrounding entanglement in equipment and machinery. This fact sheet supports the Roadway Construction “Caught-in” Series: Entangled in Equipment and Machinery fact sheet. Topics covered include learning objectives, descriptions of employee/employer responsibilities, examples of instructional activities, and a training record form.
